 Sewing Perfect Kaleidoscope Blocks

Try pressing units next to a drawn line on your ironing board cover to square them. This technique is especially helpful when sewing blocks that are made with 2 halves where points come together in the center, such as 8-pointed stars. Join the kaleidoscope patches in pairs. Draw a 90-degree angle on your ironing board cover or a piece of muslin pinned to your ironing board. Press the 2-patch unit next to the lines. Ease and block as necessary to achieve a perfect 90-degree corner. Press all block seams open. Join 2 pairs to make half the block. Press this unit alongside a straight line on your ironing board. Finally, join the 2 halves.
