Forget the wrapping paper and the ribbon. Here's a baby shower gift that's just too special to put in a box. QNM graphic artist Susan Geddes of Littleton, Colorado, adapted a design made by Ursula Reikes, (originally published in Quilt It for Kids, 2000) for a nephew's baby. She made it a scrap quilt with gentle prints in yellow, green, and pink, and added a curved inner border.

To encourage the recipient to use the quilt, she added a label to the back with a poem by Nancy Riddell of Loveland, Colorado. Nancy gives her permission for QNM readers to photocopy her poem for personal use.
