Triple Four-Patch
Made by Nancy Breland
Nancy Breland tells QNM that she had to study this block for a long time before figuring out how it differed from the typical Double Nine-patch. The Pennington, New Jersey, quiltmaker enjoyed updating an antique Amish quilt design with batiks, hand-dyes, and her own machine quilting motifs. A narrow folded flap accents the pieced borders.
This pattern appears in the September 2005 (#375) issue of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt store, check back issue availability and order online at www.villagequiltshoppe.com.
