Triple Four-Patch

 Assembly

Step 4

Referring to the partial quilt assembly diagram, join blocks with C's and D's in diagonal rows. Be sure to orient the D's correctly.

Step 5

Join rows. Sew E's to corners.

Step 6

The inner borders are randomly pieced strips of varying widths and are cut to the lengths given in the materials box. Cut the side borders 2 1/2" x 51 1/2" and the top and bottom borders 2 1/2" x 34 1/2". Sew B's to the ends of the top and bottom borders.

Step 7

Matching centers and ends, sew the side inner borders to the quilt. Matching centers, ends, and side border seams, sew the top and bottom inner borders to the quilt.

Step 8

Press the cream/white flaps in half along the length, wrong sides together. Align the raw edges of the longer flaps with the raw edges of the sides of the quilt and baste close to the edge. Repeat for the top and bottom flaps.

Step 9

Matching centers and ends, sew the longer batik borders to the sides of the quilt, being sure to catch both raw edges of the flaps in the seam. Sew the shorter borders to the top and bottom in the same manner.
