Step 7
Matching centers and ends, sew the shorter striped borders to the sides of the quilt. Press seam allowances away from the quilt top. Sew a setting square to both ends of a longer striped border. Press seam allowances toward the border. Matching ends, seams, and center, sew border to the top of the quilt. Repeat for the bottom border.
Step 8
Matching centers, sew longer black print borders to longer tan print borders. Repeat for shorter borders. Matching centers, align the edge of the black print of the longer border unit with the top of the quilt and stitch, starting and stopping the stitching 1/4" away from the edges of the quilt. Repeat for the bottom border. Sew the shorter borders to the sides of the quilt in the same manner. Press seam allowances toward the quilt top. Miter corners, carefully matching seams of the black and tan borders. Trim seam allowances to 1/4" and press open.

Step 10
Layer the quilt backing, batting, and top. Baste. Outline quilt around the block patches. Quilt in-the-ditch along the sashes and on marked lines. Bind the quilt to finish.
