Fine Feathered Flock

 Readers' Quilt Show

Quilter's Newsletter Magazine collects slides of unusual and notable quilts so that we can have ongoing, special quilt shows. This show of chicken-inspired quilts is sure to bring a smile to your face, and will probably hatch a few more chicken quilts for another time.

Crack O' Dawn Marching Band, 39" x 52", by Caroline Reardon, Lakewood, Colorado. Caroline, editor of our sister magazine Quiltmaker, says, "I wanted to design a tessellating image and a chicken motif, too. The barn and the sun were 'built' around the center blocks, after the chickens were finished." The three-section chicken figures were pieced on paper foundations.
