Why Didn't the Chicken Cross the Road?, 34" x 34", by Shelly Burge of Lincoln, Nebraska. When the Nebraska State Quilt Guild issued a challenge to members to make anything chicken related, Shelly decided to try using the spare tire from her car as a big rubber stamp to make tracks on her quilt. "I taped the quilt top, minus borders, to the kitchen floor. Using a sponge, I dabbed fabric paint on the tire and rolled it across the chicken," explains Shelly. She used her technique, Confetti Applique®, to create the flat portions of the chicken.
