The Little Red Hen, 39" x 62", by Debbie Bachhofer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Debbie loved the chicken fabric in the border but wasn't sure what to do with it. "When my daughter was little, her favorite story was Richard Scarry's 'Little Red Hen,' so I simplified and combined pictures to make my quilt," Debbie says. The story is machine stitched in the sashing underneath each block. This little red hen pecked up a first place ribbon in the 1997 Central Oklahoma Quilter's Show.
