Fine Feathered Flock

 Readers' Quilt Show

The Year of the Rooster, 85" x 86", by Eva Macaj of Englewood, Colorado. "Most of my quilts are inspired by Slovakian folk art. The man wears Slovak peasant costume, and I cut up a blouse I had purchased in Slovakia to embellish the wine goblet, "says Eva. Heavily quilted with feathers, chickens, peacocks, and other bird motifs, the quilt was finished on the Chinese New Year of 1993, the year of the rooster, hence its name.
