Jake's Bow Tie

Designed and made by Amy Bright

Traditional patchwork has always been a favorite of Amy Bright of Tucson, Arizona. She writes, "The Bow Tie block is one of my favorites. I like to add my own twist to tradition, so I placed the colors to gradate from the center out and I had fun with the sashing. The quilt was pieced while waiting on the school bus that I drive, and it was quilted in sections on the bus, too."

The pattern is a great one for learning how to set in patches because many of the seams have the same gentle angle.

This pattern appears in the March 2006 (#380) issue of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt store, check back issue availability and order online at www.villagequiltshoppe.com.
