Lady's Choice
Made by Dora Bard
Traditional blocks in a variety of fabrics, many of them nineteenth-century reproduction prints, are pleasing to the eye in this bed-size quilt by Dora Bard of Newton, Massachusetts. Dora's daughter Judy chose the prints from Dora's stash, as well as the gold print used in the alternating squares. Dora writes, "I had my doubts about the fabric for the alternate blocks, but Judy was right!" The quilting was done by Penny Jurgens of Buffalo, Missouri.
This pattern appears in the May 2006 (#382) issue of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt store, check back issue availability and order online at www.villagequiltshoppe.com.
