Barn Loft
Designed and made by Ann Horton
Quiltmaker Ann Horton loves to play with traditional blocks and give them a fresh look. In this scrappy, award-winning quilt, she used the rich, warm colors of autumn to give the Log Cabin block a personal spin and to capture childhood memories. "Growing up on the family farm, one of my favorite places was our barn loft. Sunlight streaming through the high windows reflected dust, while deep shadows and beams filled the space," Ann remembers. "This quilt captures the light, shadows, and sweet homespun feel of my farm in Illinois."
This pattern appears in the October 2006 (#386) issue of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt store, check back issue availability and order online at www.villagequiltshoppe.com.
