Quilt-As-You-Go Stained Glass

Made by Brenda Henning

Brenda Henning is a quilt teacher and designer, and has published several books that feature her stained glass patterns. Brenda's books and patterns are available at your local quilt shop or contact Bear Paw Productions, PO Box 230589, Anchorage, AK 99523; (907) 349-7873; website www.bearpawproductions.com.

"My first exposure to stained glass quiltmaking was in the late 1980s when I took a workshop with a patient teacher. I think "patient" should have been a clue. The hand stitching process was too time consuming for my busy life filled with small children. The method that follows is the culmination of the many different approaches I have tried in an effort to simplify the process.

The pattern I've designed is quick and easy so that you can try my technique. It is the right size for a small wall quilt or the center of a larger quilt. If you choose fabrics in a bride's wedding colors, it could be made into a pillow suitable for a ring bearer."
