Rings and Things

 The Arc

The arc section can include variations in the number of wedge or triangle patches. Some quiltmakers adapt the arc to one single piece of fabric, or incorporate both solid and pieced arcs. You might try splitting the arc along its length in a curve, creating a double circle. Crazy patchwork or string piecing can add yet another effect. Whether your arcs are simple or complex, handle the bias edges carefully. Liberal starching can help keep the edges from stretching out of shape.
