Rings and Things

 The Joining Square

The joining square area of the classic ring design is typically a Four Patch, as the rings come together and interlock. If you want to try variations here, keep the design simple so that the flow of one ring into the next is enhanced rather than interrupted. Repeating a color or colors used in the arcs will tend to make the circles appear continuous, while high-contrast color choices will increase the interlocking effect.
