Fig Leaf

Designed by Barbara Fiedler and Susan Geddes,
Made by Mickie Swall

"I grew up in Ohio and the turning leaves are so beautiful in the fall. This is my favorite time of year," says Quilters Newsletter graphic designer Susan with a smile. Both she and QN editor Barbara are Ohio natives. "I have to agree that Indian Summer is very special for me; I am drawn to the colors of the season. Susan and I noticed the luscious browns, rusts, and golds in the fabrics we selected for Fig Leaf. The colors remind me of the gorgeous maple and oak trees in my family’s yard," reminisces Barbara. The fabric line is Reflections by Johanna Wilson, from the Riverwoods collection by Troy Corporation. The Fig Leaf block pattern was previously published in QN’s 50 Best Blocks 2005.

The Fig Leaf pattern appears in the September 2007 (#395) issue of Quilters Newsletter. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt store, check back issue availability and order online at www.villagequiltshoppe.com.
