Autumn Fair

Made By Scott Murkin

A 1930s Nancy Cabot pattern called County Fair was the inspiration for this pieced quilt by Scott Murkin of Asheboro, North Carolina. Scott chose a strippy setting sometimes called streak of lightning. Scott says, "Typically the zigzag is emphasized by a contrast in color or value, but I chose to blend the triangles to make the blocks appear to float. I love pieced borders, and it was challenging to create a design that both extends the blocks into the border, yet subtly frames the quilt."
