Chopstick Challenge

By Patrice Perkins Creswell

Patrice explains, "This quilt is a lighthearted tribute to my problem with chopsticks. I look very competent with a pair in my hand until the meal arrives. That's when my technique falls apart, and the food goes flying." The 74" x 74" quilt was created from commercially available batiks and Oriental-themed fabrics, with fan blocks adapted from classic American patchwork and quilting motifs from traditional Japanese sashiko. The Austin, Texas, quilter adds that since making this quilt, she has finally mastered the chopstick challenge.
