Quilts in the Classroom
Helpful Design Solutions

  • Be flexible and not locked into a particular vision of a finished quilt.

  • If the center of the quilt is too large to accommodate the blocks the children made for the border, add sashes between them.

  • If the center of the quilt is too small, add a border around it.

  • If you have one or two extra blocks that won't fit, add them to a plain border.

  • If you don't have enough blocks, include a teacher's block, or a class information block.
