Regular readers of QNM will no doubt recognize the hand of Kathy Munkelwitz in this quilt. This talented quiltmaker from Isle, Minnesota, clearly has a fondness for feedsack prints and a real knack for making something special from simple elements.
Kathy says she named the quilt Roots because it uses basic blocks. "I figure every quilter starts with nine-patches and eight-pointed stars," she explains.
