Step 1

Wash and press fabrics, using starch if desired. Cut the long white borders first and then the patches as listed in the materials and cutting box and as shown in the rotary cutting diagrams.

Step 2

Make 26 of block Y. Kathy used the same fabric for all of the star points within a block.



Step 3

Kathy made the Z blocks scrappy by using a different fabric in each corner and center of each nine-patch. Make 49 of block Z by sewing individual A patches as shown in the block piecing diagram. Click here for an alternative method of making strip-pieced nine-patch blocks.
