Years ago a friend gave me a quilt kit that she bought in the 1970s and wasn't ever going to put together. My mother was delighted to have the kit and so excited when she finished the Floral Medallion. Mother, Kathleen Davidson, has given quilts to all of her grandchildren when they got married, and my daughter Susan Whitney was the recipient of this one.
Mother is in a nursing home now and couldn't be in the picture, but you can see how happy our daughter is with the very special quilt made by her grandmother.

Dear Editors,
September 10-11-12 was my response to the September 11th tragedy. The three panels represent New York City before, during, and after the attack on the World Trade Center. I created the images on a computer from my own photographs and transferred them to fabric.
A safety pin was accidentally left behind in the picture of the twin towers. I decided to leave it in the quilt to symbolize a city that was torn apart now being put back together.
