The first-base player for a women's traveling softball team spent her time on the road appliqueing and embroidering pictures of 44 professional players during the 1950s. Clara Schmitt Rothmeier's 84" x 84" quilt, My Favorite Baseball Stars, is one of the items on exhibit in the American Folk Art Museum's exhibit The Perfect Game: America Looks at Baseball, open June 17, 2003, to February 1, 2004.
