Houston Offers Quilt Lovers a Wealth of Viewing Choices

The International Quilt Festival/Houston continues from October 30 through November 2 with more of everything quilters have come to expect and, well, more.

Once inside the George R. Brown Convention Center, it may be difficult to select your favorite from among the more than 1,000 contemporary and antique quilts on exhibit.

Tactile Architecture™ is an exhibit that quilt lovers know to look for at each Festival. Shown below is Repentance/Redemption by Nancy E. Kimpel of New Berlin, Wisconsin, that will be on display with other selected works, celebrating architectural themes and inspirations.

Confetti Convergence by Carol Taylor of Pittsford, New York, is one of the works from the Husqvarna Viking Gallery of Quilt Art-Masterpieces: Spirit and Strength. The exhibition made its debut in 2001 to showcase quilt art created with sewing machine techniques in a gallery-type setting.

For more information about Festival, contact Quilts, Inc., 7660 Woodway, Suite 550, Houston, TX 77063; 713-781-6864; website www.quilts.com.
