Northern California
Embraces International Show

Breezy Day, 38" x 36", by Roxanne Bartel, was named best wall quilt.





With more than 700 items on display each October, the Pacific International Quilt Festival is the largest quilt festival on the west coast.



Grandma's Garden in Provence, 58 1/2" x 48", by Deborah Slaybers, won the best pictorial category.





The 2003 show featured exhibits of quilts from Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and the show's organizers have commented that the caliber of the work represented some of the finest they had seen to date.



Temperamental Tulips, 84" x 84", by Elizabeth Spannring, won third place in PIQF's traditional category.
