News Notes

...Diverse cultures unite in exhibition...

Two contemporary quiltmakers--one African American and one Native American--have combined their works into one exhibition entitled A Patchwork of Cultures, through January 30, 2005, at the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art in Great Falls, Montana. Mary Lee Bendolph is from Gee's Bend, Alabama, and her quilts have recently appeared in the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art with other quilts from that community. Caroline Wilson's structured, geometric quilts reflect her Navajo heritage. The museum is located at 1400 First Ave. N. in Great Falls, Montana. For more information, phone 406-727-8255 or email jessica@the-square.org.
