News Notes

...RMQM names new executive director...

Having volunteered as a docent at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum for eight years, Paula Pahl has watched the museum grow and says she has a very good idea of what the museum has to offer. RMQM is one of a handful of museums in the United States devoted to the display and preservation of quilts. A quiltmaker herself for 30 years, Paula offers that she is "thrilled" to be named its new executive director and looks forward to increasing the museum's growing national presence. Paula replaces retiring director Janet Finley. RMQM is located at 1111 Washington Ave., Golden, CO 80401; 303-277-0377; rmqm@rmqm.net.

...Gift cards support Gee's Bend...

The graphic quilts and the story of the tiny isolated community of Gee's Bend, Alabama, were introduced to the quilt world in 2002. Now you can support the impoverished community by buying Gee's Bend Gift Cards that can be used anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. A portion of the purchase price will benefit Gee's Bend and the quiltmakers who live there. For more information phone 866-432-6527 or visit the website www.geesbendgiftcard.com.
