With the reputations of these shows firmly established, the number of visitors to the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza and the Pacific International Quilt Festival continues to grow each year, making these quilt shows the largest on the east and west coasts, respectively.

Now in their second decade of operation, the 2004 shows attracted visitors from around the world to PNQE in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, in September, and to the Santa Clara Convention Center in California in October for PIQF.

First place in the traditional category at PNQE went to Amy Bright of Tucson, Arizona, for her quilt Seven Petalled Squash Blossom, 96" x 96", shown above. At PIQF, the Yuko Watanabe best of show prize was awarded to Brilliant Fireworks, 78" x 78", by Etsuko Iitaka of Tokyo, Japan, shown below.

For information about the 2005 shows, visit the website for Mancuso Show Management at www.quiltfest.com, or write to P.O. Box 667, New Hope, PA 18938.
