Katie Pasquini Masopust's ever-evolving quiltmaking style has made her one of today's most versatile art quilters and has earned her the Silver Star Award for 2005.

Quilts, Inc. and the International Quilt Festival will present the award to Katie on October 29 at the Festival in Houston. Katie has been singled out for her body of work that has positively influenced, promoted, and developed the art of quilting. Formerly a quilt shop owner, Katie has become a widely sought-after quilt teacher who travels internationally. A pioneer of the art quilt movement, she has had two of her quilts win best of show honors at Houston in 1982 and 1986, and her quilt Rio Hondo was included in the Twentieth Century's Best American Quilts.
