...Quilt Artisans Added to Roster...

In recognition of the excellence of their work, the National Quilting Association has awarded master quilter status to two quiltmakers in 2005. A panel of five NQA-certified judges reviewed entries and selected Shirley Kelly of Colden, New York, for her Flowers of the Crown, and Margaret Docherty of Durham, England, for her Birds 'N Roses.

Margaret's quilt was shown on the cover of the April 2005 issue of QNM (371). Only 17 other quilters have been named to the Master Quilters Guild since the program was established in 1980. An information packet on the Master Quilter Program is available from NQA. 614-488-8520; www.nqaquilts.org
