Exhibits and Extras
Scheduled for Chicago Festival

The dates of the International Quilt Festival/Chicago are April 7-9, but visitors arriving early also will find entertaining quilt-related activities. A tour of local quilt shops is available on Wednesday, April 5, and classes begin the next day on Thursday. Preview night is also scheduled for Thursday.

Festival officially opens on Friday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, just outside Chicago. In addition to the quilts from the "I Remember Mama" exhibit that debuted at IQF/Houston, visitors will find "In The American Tradition IV," "Hands All Around XXI: International Quilts," "Journal Quilt Project," and "Tactile Architecture 2005." Floral quilts in the exhibit "In Full Bloom II" will honor Helen Pearce O'Bryant.

Scheduled special events include the annual Bernina Fashion Show and a lecture and luncheon with Alex Anderson on Friday, and a dinner on Saturday with a lecture by Charlotte Warr Andersen. 713-781-6864; www.quilts.com
