Locating a professional longarm quilter just got easier with the release of a directory by the Sewing Dealers Trade Association. Copies of the Professional Longarm Yellowbook, which identifies longarm quilters across the United States and Canada, were distributed at the International Quilt Market and Festival/Houston in October 2005; the directory is also available online. ...Contest Celebrates Alliance's Move...

Create a small wall quilt in the shape of a house and help celebrate the move of the Alliance for American Quilts to its new home in Asheville, North Carolina. The pattern and rules for the "Put a Roof Over Our Head" quilt contest are on the Alliance's website. Entries must be submitted by May 15, and selected quilts will be displayed in galleries, quilt shops, and other selected venues in North Carolina and at the National Quilting Association's Show in Columbus, Ohio, in June. The first prize winner of a Bernina Aurora 440QE will be announced in August 2006.
