Exhibit Offers Pieces
by Quilters of Color Network

Through November 26, works by 15 members of the Quilters of Color Network of New York will be on display at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, Massachusetts. The title of the show–Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me 'Roun'–refers to a spiritual sung by marchers during the Civil Rights Movement, and is used by quilt artist Catherine Lamkin as the name for her entry. Many of the quilts in the exhibition are narrative and reflect the quiltmakers' views of cultural and political history. On November 5, contemporary quilt artists Patricia Montgomery and Ed Bostick, who are inspired by traditional patterns, will show examples of their work. They will discuss their methods of creating and why they are drawn to their particular styles of quilting as part of the OBJECTively Speaking lecture series at the museum. Several of the artists will also be available at a reception on November 19. 508-588-6000; fullercraft.org
