Nashville to Host
AQS Quilt Expo
Quilt lovers will have something to sing about when they arrive in Nashville, Tennessee–– Music City USA––August 22-25 for the 2007 American Quilter's Society Quilt Expo & Contest.
The Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center will house three shows under one roof, offering attendees the latest in quilting, needlework, and machine work.
Instructors at the AQS School of Quiltmaking will once again offer classes in piecing, applique, color, and design, as well as professional development classes for those interested in appraising or judging quilts. Lectures about machine maintenance, stabilizers, and thread will help attendees better understand the tools of their craft.
Special events include an evening of inspiration with Caryl Bryer Fallert, who will speak about her creative process, and a brunch with Margaret Miller, who encourages quilters to "never use two fabrics when you can use 20." In addition, Sandra Sider of the Manhattan Quilters Guild in New York will share the
stories behind 21 quilts that make up "MetroTextural," the group's newest national exhibit, which will be on display at the Expo. americanquilter.com
