Hearts on Fire
Applique Block Pattern

Cindy Cooksey's Heart Strings, an easy applique quilt, is presented in the January/February 2004 issue of QNM. Cindy's quilt includes one heart block that is "on fire." If you have a "burning desire" to make a block like this, the patches are available here.

Prepare the heart and flames for applique with your preferred method. After joining the rows, position the flames so they extend into the row above, and stitch in place. Position and applique the heart on the block (patch A), covering the raw ends of the flames.

Complete directions for Cindy's Heart Strings quilt appear online in the January/February 2005 (#369) issue of QNM. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt shop, visit our online store at www.VillageQuiltShoppe.com to check back issue availability.
