Fleur-de-lis
Quilting Motif

Shelley Landon's quilt Tarascon (QNM Jan./Feb. 2005) commemorates her trip to France, the name inspired by a quilt she saw at the Charles Demery Museum in the city of Tarascon. Besides using a palette of richly colored fabrics purchased there, she completed the quilt by machine quilting fleur-de-lis in the border, another reminder of her trip. QNM artist Susan Geddes adapted the design as shown here to be positioned top to bottom in a row across each border. The design can be enlarged on a copier and turned on an angle for each corner of the quilt.

Complete directions for Shelley's Tarascon quilt appear in the January/February 2005 (#369) issue of QNM. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt shop, visit our online store at www.VillageQuiltShoppe.com to check back issue availability.
