Scottie Dog
Applique Block
In England and America, the Scottie dog was once a fashionable pet, influenced by Queen Victoria's preference for them in the royal kennels. Their popularity was revived in the 1930's, owing to President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottie named Fala.
Download the PDF or print a pattern for this applique block. This pattern is suitable for a block that finishes 9 inches. We recommend adding the applique to a square measuring at least 10 inches and then trimming to the unfinished size. The embroidery thread is black.
View a reader's Scottie Dog quilt in the Quilting Bee column of the January/February 2005 (#369) issue of QNM. If that issue is no longer available at your local quilt shop, visit our online store at www.VillageQuiltShoppe.com to check back issue availability.
