Choosing Fabric
for Your Paper-piecing Projects

Carol Doak is well known for her paperpiecing expertise. In the December 2005 issue of QNM, Carol shares her tips on how to use directional fabrics in paper-pieced quilts. Download the PDF file to find 5 of Carol's foundations featured in her article "Choosing Fabric for Your Paper-piecing Projects."

Make as many copies of the foundation patterns as needed for your quilt. Piece them in numerical order and trim excess fabric 1/4" beyond the outer line of the foundation. After the quilt top is finished, carefully remove the foundation papers.

See the December 2005 issue of QNM for Carol's complete article. If you missed that issue, order a copy online at www.village quiltshoppe.com.
