Best of Show
A Closer Look
A commercial endeavor to sell a few paper-piecing patterns to dog-loving quilters turned into a seven-panel quilt that covers almost 40 linear feet. The pattern series that evolved has contributed to efforts that have raised thousands of dollars for dog breed rescue and veterinary research.
Best of Show, designed and made by Linda Hibbert, of Loveland, Colorado, includes a paper-pieced picture of every one of the 163 dog breeds currently recognized by the American Kennel Club. By exhibiting her quilt, Linda hopes to inspire dog-loving quilters to make quilts that not only honor their best friends but also to raise money for breed rescue organizations. For more information, see the "Meetin' Place" in the May 2007 issue of QNM, visit silverliningsoriginals.com, or email lleeanne@comcast.net.
