Miss Kitty
Courthouse Log Cabin Blocks

This is the fourth installment of patterns and instructions for the art quilt on the back of Miss Kitty, made by Janine Holzman of Sitka, Alaska. The pattern for Miss Kitty is in the May 2007 issue of Quilters Newsletter. The small strippy quilt on the back is made with blocks that Janine stitched or collected. The patterns for each of the vertical rows are being given on this website in seven installments, which began in May 2007.

Row 4: Courthouse Log Cabin Blocks

Cut patches for 7 blocks, cutting the printed motifs in an interesting way for the A patches. Refer to the block piecing diagram and make 7 blocks. Sew the blocks in a vertical row. Cut 2 sashes each 1 1/2" x 39" and sew them to the long sides of row 4. Cut 2 sashes 2 1/4" x 6 1/2" and sew them to the top and bottom. Sew this row to the rows from the previous installments.
