Family Gatherings
In
Quilter's Newsletter
issue 396, quilt historian Merikay Waldvogel told the story of a mother and
daughter who made a quilt and wrote a book to record precious family memories.
Daughter Harriett Ely of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, made the quilt and
recorded the stories written by her mother, Jennie Smith, of Fort Wayne,
Indiana. Here are
a few more of Harriett's blocks
and the stories Jennie wrote about her life in the 1930s and 1940s.
